Configuring Geo-Fence Layers

Geo-Fence Layer Creation

A Geo-Fence is a predefined area representing safety or risk. Adding Geo-Fence Layers allows administrators to group Geo-Fences into different categories and monitor users entering and leaving these locations.

From the Main Configuration page, click on Geo-Fence Layers to manage Geo-Fence Layers. On the Geo-Fence Configuration page, click New to create a new layer.

A new Geo-Fence Layer configuration page will appear. Enter the required details in the Name field. Clicking the Colour box will allow you to select the layer’s colour. The Opacity setting controls how transparent the layer appears on the map.

Click Save to complete the configuration of your Geo-Fence Layer.

Assigning Permissions to a Geo-Fence Layer

To view or edit a Geo-Fence Layer, permissions must be granted to specific groups. Select the Geo-Fence Layer, then click Permissions.

A new page will appear. Click New to add group permissions. Click the magnifying glass icon and select a group from the list. This will grant the chosen group the rights to use the Geo-Fence. You must also assign a permission level to the group.

  • View – Allows the group to view the Geo-Fences.
  • Edit – Allows users in the group to view and edit the Geo-Fences.
  • To remove a group’s permission, click the bin icon at the end of the row.

Click Save to confirm your configuration.
