Vismo Mass Notifications enable organisations to rapidly deliver crucial information to targeted individuals, mass groups or people in geographic locations via multiple channels including SMS, Email, In-App and Phone Calls.
Send a Mass Notification
To send a Mass Notification, click on the envelope in the top right corner, and select Send Message from the drop-down. If these options do not show, ensure you have the correct permissions. This will open the Compose Broadcast Message Page.
Templates
Templates enable you to preconfigure the Mass Notification message. Click on Templates at the top to add a preconfigured message template. Read about configuring Templates here.
The list of available templates will then display. Choose the preferred template and click on Select to add that template.
The template will prepopulate the compose broadcast message screen. Click on Customise to change any of the settings on the template for this message only.
General
- Message - Add the required message within the text box.
- Expiry - This is how long the message is available to users for. Note: The maximum is 1 Day.
Message Options
Message options enable administrators to add coded response options to allow employees to quickly and effectively acknowledge and respond to the Mass Notification with their current safety status. Turn the Use Options switch On.
This will display the Message Options functions. Click on New to add a new message option.
A message options box will display. Enter the required message response within the text box. Choose the preferred level for the message. Choose between Auto, Positive, Neutral and Negative.
Follow this step to add as many message options as required. Click on Delete to remove any of the message options.
- Avoid Option Collisions - Ensures that message options do not conflict with another if multiple Mass Notifications are sent out within a short period of time.
- Allow Answer to Be Changed - Enables users to change their message response if they have already responded.
Message Send Strategy
The message send strategy enables you to choose which method the message is sent via. Click on New to add a message send strategy. Choose the message preferred message strategy from the drop-down. Choose between SMS, Email, Phone Call and In-App.
Add the preferred message strategies and choose the order for the messages to be sent. Notifications can be re-ordered by clicking on the = icon and dragging and dropping them into the preferred order.
Notifications can be sent simultaneously or cascaded through each channel and are configured via Delay Before Next Step.
Send the Notifications Simultaneously
To send the notification simultaneously, ensure that the time under Delay Before Next Step on each message strategy is the same. This will ensure that the notifications will be sent out to each channel at the same time.
Cascade the Notifications through each Message Channel
Once the preferred channels have been added and ordered, configure the times by clicking on the + and - icons under Delay Before Next Step. When the times are different, there will be a delay of the configured time until the notification is sent via the next strategy. In the below example, an In-App message will be sent immediately, 1 minute later an SMS notification will be sent, 5 minutes after the SMS, an email will be sent out and finally 10 minutes after the email, a phone call will be sent out.
Note: If a user replays via a channel before all notifications are sent out, the notification will no longer be sent via the other channels.
Loop Send Items
Loop Send Items when On, will loop the notifications until a response has been received by a user, or until the message has been expired. Turn the switch On to enable the notifications to loop.
Add Recipients to receive the Mass Notification
Next to recipients, click on Add. Note: The number in brackets next to recipients indicates how many users have been configured to receive the notification.
If you select User the list of available users will display. Choose the users you wish to send the notification to until they are highlighted in blue and click on Select. Follow these steps to add the required users.
If you select Group all members of the group will be sent the mass notification. If you want all team members bar a few to receive the message click Add by the Excluded Recipients (0) line and choose the users to be excluded from the mass message.

Send the Mass Notification
Once the message has been configured and the required users have been added, click Send Message to send the Mass Notification.
