A Point of Contact (PoC) is a person who will receive red alerts when triggered by a user in duress. This differs from a Red Flag alert in that a pre-defined list of PoCs are contacted in sequential order whereas a Red Flag alert will message everyone in a specified group.
Please note: To configure which PoCs are contacted when a red alert is triggered first you must have a Lone Worker Licence and add that user to the PoCs list. Please click here to learn how to add users to the PoCs list.
Escalation Alert Event
This event type will react to a Red Flag Alert but instead of informing all recipients, it will work its way down a pre-defined list of contacts.
The event will list as below. Click on the Edit button to configure the event.
Turn the Enabled switch to On so the required actions take place.
Turn the Safety Check switch to On to send an automated safety check SMS to the person who pressed the red alert button on their device.
In the Points of Contact (PoC) section click on Add Entry to add the persons who are to be notified of a Red Alert event. The first person on the list will be contacted and if no action is taken by the PoC within 2 minutes, the next person on the list will receive the notification that a user has raised the Red Flag alert.
In the Escalation section, you can add notes or instructions for the PoC to follow.
Managing Active Red Alerts with PoCs
When a user activates the red alert function the escalation process will begin and the PoC will receive a link to view details of the Red Flag alert via SMS.
The SMS link will display details similar to the below image.
View Map - will open google maps showing the users last known location.
Audio Playback - will play a 2 minute clip of the audio taken when the red alert button was pressed
Escalate - will push the alert to your Arc who will pick up the red alert and act on it
False alarm - will close the red alert and no further action will be taken
Pass on - will push the alert to the next PoC in the queue
Extend Time - will extend the time that the link is valid for and allow the PoC to continue working through the red alert.
The automated link is only valid for 2 minutes before the next PoC is contacted. If a PoC clicks on the link and more than 2 minutes have passed they will see a Link not valid screen. Likewise, if the PoC opens the link and doesn't perform an action or extend the time the link will automatically close and the PoC will no longer be able to access it. They will need to login to the Vismo portal to view the Red Alerts to view any details.
