When a user activates a red flag alert, a notification will display on the Vismo Portal at the top of the screen under ‘Active Alert.’ The number next to ‘Active Alert’ indicates how many alerts need your attention. Click on ‘Active Alert’ to view the red flag alerts.
In this example, there is one active alert.
The Active Alerts page will display.
- Triggered By - Shows which user activated the red flag/Panic alert.
- Triggered On – Show the time the alert was triggered.
- Alert Type – The type of red flag alert that was activated.
There are 3 types of red flag alerts which are activated in different ways:
- SOS Button – When a user presses the red alert button.
- Assignment Check-in Missed – If a user does not check-in within the given time frame when on assignment.
- Man Down – Red flag alert which automatically raised in the event of a fall or sudden impact.
Click on the alert until it highlights in blue to view the last known location of the user on the map.
To listen to the covert audio recording, select the alert until it highlights in blue and click on the Audio button located at the top of the screen.
A pop-up will show with the audio clip. Click on the Play button to listen to the audio clip. Click on Download to download the audio clip. Click on Close to close the audio recording.
To view more details about the user, click on the Contact button located at the top of the screen.
A pop-up will show with the user’s contact details along with the address of their last known location. Click on Start Conversation to bring up the messaging screen to send a message to the user. See Messaging for more details.
Acknowledge the Active Alert
Clicking on Acknowledge at the top will add your name to the Acknowledged By section.
This tells other Administrators that you are handling the red flag alert, but also notified the user who activated the red flag alert, that you have acknowledged their alert. The Active Alert at the top will change to amber.
In this example, Security Team is handling the red flag alert. Acknowledged On shows the time the administrator made the acknowledgement and started handling the alert.
Closing the Active Alert
To close a red flag alert, click on Close from the top.
A pop-up will ask you to enter a reason for closing the alert. Enter your reason and click Ok. The user who triggered the alert will be automatically notified that their alert has been closed.
Manage Red Alerts via an Escalation Tree
Red alerts can also be managed via an escalation tree whereby Points of Contacts (PoCs) are contacted in sequential order instead of the alert going to all members of a group. See our article on Points of Contacts to see if this is a better option for you.
