This article will cover how to add a button to the app users in order to allow them to perform a check-in. This can be done for the whole account or just for a group.
Please note: You must first create a check-in set and assign it to an account/user. If you have not done so yet, please click here to learn how to do it.
Adding a check-in button for the whole account
1) Click on the person icon in the top right corner of the screen.
2) Select Account Settings.
3) Click on Device Configuration.
4) Click on Edit.
Please note: If the screen below looks different, you have not assigned a set yet. Please see the message at the top of this article.
5) The app homepage editor will display. Here you will be able to add a check-in button.
6) Search for the Check-in tile, drag and drop the tile onto the app homepage
7) Configuring the button.
7.1) Click on the check-in button to access its configuration.
7.2) The menu on the left will appear. This is where you can configure the button.
7.3) You can customise the size of the button.
7.4) Select the specific function you want this check-in button to execute.
7.4.1) Click on the magnifying glass.
7.4.2) Select the function for the button until it highlights in blue and then click on Select & Close.
Both the colour and the check-in label will update as per your check-in set configuration.
7.4.3) You can add additional information here for this specific button.
Please note: This message is not for the app user. It is for the administrators who will receive a notification when the app user presses the button. We recommend to just leave it as check-in or check-out. For more information about notifications please click here. Alternatively keep reading this article and at end there will be a link to learn more about notifications.
7.4.4) In this section you can configure the expiry time of the check-in. When the user presses the check-in button, a countdown timer will appear letting the app user know how long the user has before a "failed to check-out" notification is sent to the administrator.
Please note: If you have not configured the check-in set to have a timer, there will not be a countdown or notification. You can type any time but it will not execute any timed action, just the normal check-in.
Please click here to check how the timer is displayed to the app user.
8) Once you have completed the configuration, click Save at the top.
9) A confirmation request will pop up.
9.1) Type in the confirmation as instructed.
9.2) Click on Save.
The Check-in function is now ready to be used on the app.
