Vismo is aware of a number of customers having problems with the Vismo Locate & Protect app ceasing to track locations after a number of hours or days on Apple devices running iOS 15 or later.
Vismo has been made aware by Apple that a bug exists in the location services function of all current versions of iOS 15 which is the underlying cause of this issue. This bug affects any apps using background location.
Please note, this bug does not affect every device equally, even under the same conditions. It is likely some users on the recent iOS 15 may go weeks without experiencing an issue. Furthermore older devices are more likely to be affected than newer ones.
Vismo is in open dialog with Apple and will give further information once a workaround or solution is provided. It is advised for all customers to refrain from updating devices to iOS 15 until further notice as this issue may affect other apps as well as Vismo. Vismo also recommends where possible that user’s avoid “swiping up” the app as this may increase the likelihood of the issue arising in devices operating iOS 15. If for any reason a phone restart occurs, the Vismo app should be manually re-launched.
Please rest assured there is no security risk in remaining on iOS 14 as this version is still receiving security updates from Apple.
We apologise for the inconvenience this is causing.
