Locating Settings

Device Configuration allows administrators to set up and personalise the Vismo app on users’ devices. This can be applied either at the account level, affecting all users within the account, or at the group level.

Start by deciding whether you want to configure the Theme at the account or group level. Then, open the Device Configuration page at the chosen level.

Locating 

Locating settings allow you to configure how the app’s locating features operate.

To modify any of the Locating settings, click the Default drop-down and select Changed. Then configure your preferred locating settings in the relevant fields.

  • Allow Privacy Mode – Gives the user the option to turn off location tracking. This does not stop the app from transmitting data, but their location will not be reported. Even when Privacy Mode is on, the Red Alert button remains fully functional and will reveal the user’s location if pressed.
  • Enable Privacy Mode Notifications – Allows the end-user to receive notifications on their device when Privacy Mode has been enabled or disabled from the Vismo portal.
  • Enable Timed Privacy Mode – Lets the user set Privacy Mode for a specified period. Once this period expires, the Vismo app will automatically resume reporting the user’s location.
  • Tracking Enabled – Allows the app to use location services and track the device’s location.
  • Target Fix Rate – Determines how frequently the traveller’s device sends location updates to the Vismo portal. Use the + and – icons to adjust the target fix rate.

Once configured, click Save at the top to confirm the settings.
